Does Chip go after Jalen Hurts?
Posted Wed, Sep 26 6:26 pm
Tagovailoa not losing the job anytime soon, unless he gets injured.
Good chance that Jalen transfers.
Would Kelly be interested?

he won't have 2 years if he plays in a 5th game this year

He intends to play in more games this year. Won't have two years, but could grad transfer.

Why would Hurts go to UCLA though? UCLA is a dumpster fire from an SEC perspective (ok any perspective) and is not just in a rebuilding but total reboot. If he's got on year of eligibility, he can go to a better positioned school to compete, or rack up two more national titles playing a few series a game.

Would Saban burn that year for no good reason?

He is known to be somewhat of a jerk and it wouldn't shock me if he put Hurts in even if Tagovailoa is not injured, just to discourage him from transferring.

Hurts had the opportunity to bow out and transfer, but the guy obviously likes Alabama.

I think everyone is jumping off the DTR train too fast. Let him finish a full season and see how he starts next year before we think we need another QB. DTR has a stronger arm and will get better all around given some experience under his belt.

aren't going to look great much of the time.

By the time any transfer is able to get on board, DTR is likely to look a lot better than he does now. IIRC, Cade McNown had plenty of freshman "moments" his first year.

...and there is the matter of that line...

Sat out 2011 and then started on 2012...

And Hundley had a lot of HS experience versus DTR's one year...

Cajon QB

Daniels will be better than either of those two. Throws a better ball and has much more feel At the position. Hes fluid and looks the part. Makes good decisions without thinking

He's a future star. Hope to get him.

No OL; why would any stud QB want to come?

I agree, we need to land a guy like Daniels, but with our current OL depth and slow recruiting of OL so far, the UCLA QB position doesn’t look too attractive, esp when you consider it’ll take linemen a couple of years to develop.

we had a better QB then either Darnold or Daniels in Rosen. We just don't have the OL. When we had a decent OL, they all got hurt. With lines like sc gets, I could be a star.

Hurts lost 2 games went 26-2, 2 nattys and he was benched...what does that tell you!!!a scare crow handing off the ball could have done as well...I am not saying Hurts is bad but , when the the whole 2 deep squads are jr and sr 5 stars players.. I believe I at least could of got us to the CF playoff... lol...Yes I would Like Hurts as a grad transfer and Saban will put in Hurts to burn his year and keep him on the payroll for another 2 years as a great backup !!!

in the country and simply didn't screw it up for two years. UCLA does not have anything close to that type of roster. Hurts would be mediocre at an average program and will not sniff the NFL as a QB.
