The good and the bad

What's nice about Tre is that he is an excellent student.

In high school he was, let's say, bulkier, and most of the reports were caveated with "if/when he gets into shape". Well, he has gotten into shape. He was low 4* type player. Now a high 4* level player.

He can shoot and also play back to the basket.

Probably will garner lots of interest. Multi-year player with lots of years left and is ready to play.

I am not talking about burgers...who leaves the program to make room? If you are not cool about dropping names, I understand...I think, Kyman, joins Alford in NV...a lot of people are saying Riley will be earning a check overseas next year.

Not likely. I hope for his sake he stays diligent with his studies and finishes off his degree. He has the skills to play professionally overseas but it will take some effort on his part.

With whatever struggles he has with anxiety and depression.

Heโ€™s a good kid, with so much to offer, but anxiety is real and I wish him the best.

I hope Jalen get the help he needs and deserves. Same for anyone experiencing whatever it is he's going through.

All things being equal I would take him back sans the medical issues.

What happened to Hill?

Why is he not playing? Did he get into trouble again, or is it something like psychological?

sounds to me like he has some physiological issues of some kind. At least that is the rumor. Coach Cronin wont tell anyone for obvious reasons what is going on.

absence and absence of news

It looks that University is continuing to treat his absence with expected care, if not also generous care wrt his academic standing, his well-being, and his basketball scholarship and team activity status.

There are obviously protections of his HIPAA privacy rights. One might assume maintenance of his scholarship and active academic standing through the end of the school year could fall under university review soon. Winter quarter ends this Friday.

I would hope that a generous spirit - rather than only written policy or practice - is guiding UCLA in its relationship with Jalen. If, for example, Jalen is not matriculating (did not complete Winter quarter coursework, did not take steps to formally protect his academic standing by withdrawing, or take-and-pass exams), we may hear news of it soon.

The school has some degree of discretionary ability to review his unusual situation and consider the grant of special extension of his academic standing and scholarship standing beyond conventional guidelines.

Wherever this goes, I'm just hoping personally that he improves his situation enough to apply himself to whatever pursuits he and his family feel are in his best interest.

Go Jalen
Go Bruins

Play defense.. get boards...easy put backs.

The scoring will come from every one else.

Go Bruins!

I think UCLA will aim higher since scholarships may be limited. In terms of taking on a project like player. If Kenneth Nwuba left then maybe because that would be bit of an upgrade.

Note. Wouldn't assistant coach Michael Lewis have a connection while being lead recruiter at Nebraska?
