MVBall: Miles Partain named to US Olympic BVB team
Posted Mon, Jun 10 2:36 pm (Edited Mon, Jun 10 2:38 pm)
He made the US Olympic team for men's beach volleyball.

Miles Partain played with the UCLA men's indoor volleyball team from 2021 to 2023. He was the Bruins' starting setter and the MPSF POTY in 2022 and 1st team All-American. Despite these accolades, Partain wound up rotating at setter with freshman Andrew Rowan in 2023. Partain left the team early in the season to focus on beach volleyball, where he was already a rising star and 2022 AVP Defensive POTY. I recall that he graduated in 3 years.

It's telling how loaded that 2023 national championship team was that the Bruins could lose a conference POTY and 1st team AA, and still win the national title with a freshman replacement who himself became a 1st team AA.

Partain and his partner Andy Benesh (unfortunately a Southern Cal alum) are currently ranked #4 on the FIVB ranking.
