OT: Rosen cut by Cleveland

Sadly enough, but not unexpected. Highly likely Rosen's NFL career could be over.

He's a multimillionaire, so Josh will be just fine.

Who knows, maybe he's an injury away from getting another shot.

Dallas cut both backups today. I must say his body of work is not very good. I'm guilty of having made many excuses for Josh. Yet when he has played it has not been good of late.

took more snaps with OL's that gave him time for things other than dodging the rush...not only here at times, but Arizona's Oline was basically non existent when he arrived.

Confidence is invaluable when trying to crack NFL lineups...but can't say he wasn't given plenty of opportunities to break through that the past 4 yrs.

He got drafted into a bad situation in PHX and didnt have the required skill set to deal with a POS O-Line.
He had a small window in Miami and didnt take advantage of it.

From there you cant say he has had any real opportunity to move forward. It happens. Not sure if he ever would have had much of a career, but I could also see where had he been drafted into a better situation he could have carved out a back-up spot somewhere.

He is a smart guy. He looks like he will be OK outside of football.

Practice squad somewhere. But he's already done that. If the light hasn't turned on by now not sure if it's ever going to turn on. We saw his flaws at UCLA, and maybe it was masked somewhat by the many positive plays he made with his arm. But I don't think you can simply say it was because of the bad offensive lines he played behind in the NFL that he didn't succeed. Even with a clean pocket he makes a lot of mistakes. To the point where you have to question if he has the smarts to understand the position and make good decisions. It takes him way too long to process information and many times even after taking too long he makes the wrong decision. That's why he's throwing late, into coverage and taking sacks.

In retrospect what caused his downfall?

Is it that he doesn't have the talent to succeed? Or is it a psychological block? Unlike most guys that get to the NFL his motivation didn't have an underlying fear and desperation to succeed. He's always had a backup plan that didn't involve football. Why take the hits and concussions when you know you won't be a star in the NFL and can just go out and make a living elsewhere?

He worked on improving his quickness in the pocket and having a quicker release. The posters here seem to point he never had a O line. Sorry, but that is part of the game. You are the hunted when in the pocket. He needed to adapt and he could not. I think this was his last chance.

Yet a starting QB emerged with all of those same O-lines.

IND & SF also have a Bruin on the roster. I also noticed a couple of former Bruins that transferred out.
