• He coached several player to all-conference seasons, including end Leonard Wellendorf, center Homer Oliver, center Lee Coats, guard Verdi Boyer, halfback Chuck Cheshire, center Sherman Chavoor, and center John Ryland.

• Charter member of the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame (1984).
