JAMES OWENS
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Lettered as halfback in 1975,76,77,78.
- Had eight 100-plus yard games.
- Led team in rushing in 1977
- Had 2,074 yards career rushing yards and a 5.01 yard/carry average.
- Also was a star in track & field. Won one NCAA individual championship in hurdles in 1977.
- Was a 2nd round selection in the 1979 NFL Draft (San Francisco).
- Also competed in 1976 Olympic Games.
ACCOLADES
- Inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 for his two-sport accomplishments.
