- Led team in scoring in 1945.
- For his career, rushed for 1,490 yards on 255 carries, which put him third on the all-time list.
- His career rushing average of 5.85 yards per carry was the highest in school history at the time.
- Rushed for 169 yards against Oregon in 1945, which stood as a school record for 15 years.
- Made seven career interceptions including a team-leading three picks in 1947.
- Also starred in baseball.
- Has distinction of being the only football player ever to be selected twice in the NFL Draft. Drafted in the 1st round (9th overall) in the 1946 NFL Draft (Washington), but the pick was illegal because Rossi was a junior and not draft eligible. He was again chosen in the 1st round of the 1947 NFL Draft by the Redskins.
Accolades
- Inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.
- Earned All-Coast first team honors 1945.
