he got rid of the stars with the eagles and niners. thinks he can win with his coaching and system no matter who he brings in. but i'm sure if they get some wins it will make people look more. |

Oregon averaged like 30th in the country during chips tenure, landing very few "local superstars", and by in large turning unsung kids into superstars. See: Mariota, Lamichael James, and Deforest Buckner. Chip knows what he wants and he knows how to evaluate talent. Until we can easily recruit top kids as chip did when he had sustained success, he will find diamonds in the rough. |

Players win games. The conference is overall stronger than when CK had his very (short) successful tenure with Oregon. Consistently competing with Stanford, USC, and Washington with inferior talent isn't a winning proposition. Even during his run at Oregon, Kelly generally lost when he played teams who had coaching and talent (LSU, Auburn, Ohio State).
To have only six commits and a mediocre class a few months away from early signing period with a roster in very poor shape is baffling and borderline negligent. |
