I think so too. I also think that we get Albright. Plus there is a stud DB that is committed to Colorado that just got a UCLA offer and I think that Kelly is going to flip him & his name in case that you are wondering is Carl Jones.

Really we have two recruiting periods to enjoy.
Early enrollees, Grad transfers the new transfer rules and the Chip factor. Sounds like fun to me.

Bru McCoy would be a great pickup

He was a late addition to the list, as Greg Biggins reported on Saturday morning that Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star athlete Bru McCoy would be taking an official visit to UCLA this weekend.

The No. 1 prospect in the West by 247Sports, McCoy was initially supposed to visit USC this weekend but pushed that back. Instead, he'll visit UCLA.

This will be the third official visit that McCoy has taken, after having previously visited Texas and Washington.

I’m not privy to any inside info on McCoy, but I don’t think a player that resides close enough to UCLA to just drop by would waste one of 5 officials if there was 100% no chance. He may not choose UCLA, but there must be something he likes enough to take an official. Anyone here agree or disagree with me? I also think Chip will pull off a few surprise commits out of left field. I don’t know, just a hunch. UCLA looked like a team on the rise and the depth chart for a high star player won’t look too daunting considering the amount of freshman and sophomores dominating the top.

The reason he moved back his OV to SC wasn’t because of UCLA, it was because he’s giving SC time to get their staff together. There is no point in him going this year with no staff for him to talk to, so he figured that he might as well get schmoozed by UCLA in the meantime

That totally makes sense....

But to choose UCLA as an OV could also mean that if he doesn’t like what he sees at USC, he at least has a hometown choice, which means there is still a chance.

we probably are the backup.

on the other hand we are playing pabico who has been
won the best heart award. so we will argue he has a
better chance of playing at UCLA.

also we were 5th or 6th last month and now 2nd.

Mater Dei Coach

I've heard from a Mater Dei family whose son played football and graduated last year that Coach Rollinson thinks very highly of Chip Kelly. Chip never misses a chance to mention how well coached and developed the Mater Dei kids are either. That's quite a compliment to Rollo. As for Southern Cal and Helton recruiting McCoy it's obvious that Helton is a nice guy but his offense is not well coached anywhere near to what Chip has done in the past and present. Rollo might even be advising Bru that UCLA is a better option for him. Heck, the kids name is almost Bruin.

thanks for sharing. Chip is no Mora/Neu/Dorrell

Chip is building relationships & the first/most important one is Rollo. Chip is winning over Mater Dei...Bosco.. had Serra over. Somoan connection is happening. O-Line / D- Line coming thru. Chip is building a frickin' powerhouse.

This is gonna be a fun ride. GoBruins!
