Patience people. You have to give time for Chip to build his system. Your not going to get uptick in recruiting after going 3-9 and with tough UCLA Standard academics. So, what does Chip need to do: is start next season with a win and show improvement. We may not get all the recruits we all would like, shoot even i'm upset with not landing a few but UCLA needs to win and figure out away to get top athletes into UCLA that don't meet up to UCLA Standards. Until then Chip needs to recruit a certain type of player, and that player must have Grades, Character, Desire, Teachable, Work Ethic, and Athletic Stature. This player then needs to be able to answer these question: Is he a good teammate? Is he coachable? Does he want it and how bad does he want it? How does he respond to not starting? How does he do under pressure? Is he a winner? Does he like to Party? Does he think he is all that and that things should be handed to him? Is he football smart? Does he have what it takes to be a star in all areas? You want a player that you can say he checks all my boxes and has answered the questions above based off the evaluations. That type of player is winner in Chips book. We may not win them all, but i think patience is key everyone. So please just enjoy the ride and stop the negativity. Lets get behind the team with support because i feel something special is starting and will only get better as time goes on. |

And usually I’m among the most pessimistic on here
The recruiting will come because we are a system offense. This type of O relies more on scheme, rhyme, and reason. This doesn’t really require the pick of the litter.
Regardless, after our 8 win season coming up, the recruits will come. Growing Pains. We’re ok |

immediately and probably going 13-0 this year. I mean, it's not like UCLA has been horrible for the past 20 years or anything. We're just like Alabama and Ohio State, so why can't we be national champions in recruiting and on the field this year? Isn't 14 months enough time? |

Chip is already adjusting his recruiting approach to the results of 3-9. That's why we have 7 commits now, soon to be 8, and only had 6 by this time last year.
The problem, again, is that we are recruiting with 3-9 as the only example of Chip's UCLA. We need a positive season to show kids there is momentum. We need guys like Darnay, Asiasi, Theo, and Joshua Kelly to go high in the draft, and show kids this is a legit path to the NFL. If we do these two things and still aren't recruiting well, then I think it is reasonable to panic. |

stink as someone used to say on the Jim Healy show...
It will take years to get moving forward.
We will win maybe 5 games this year. Dream would be 7.
So recruits are doing what makes sense to their futures.
Hopefully our HC will stay to see it all through.
In the meantime 'go Doyers!' |

Why is anyone surprised at this? Scott Frost was one of the primary recruiters at Oregon as was Helfrich until he became HC. Once Frost left the program went downhill.
Back to Chip, he does not like to recruit. Example we offer, you accept, you cease tripping to other schools. Enough said!
Chip may turn things around but it is not a given. Never has been.
I think Chip makes UCLA an 8 to 9 win program, 9 because the conference stinks but don’t waste your breath waiting for national championships. But that won’t be this year. Have to beat Cincy to get to eight.
