Giving HC Foster credit for his revised staff
Posted Thu, May 15 2:21 pm
Back from vacation and feel good about the direction of UCLA FB in HC Foster's second season. He received criticism from some for his lack of experience after being named HC at UCLA.

I think he deserves credit for his decisiveness in redoing his coaching staff after one season. He has brought in coaches who are willing to recruit and it is showing up in the number of offers and visits. Recruits and transfer players have been commenting about HC Foster's involvement in their recruiting visits. While I was a supporter of Chip Kelly's hiring, there is little doubt Foster is taking more of a hands on approach in recruiting.

The transfer of the Iamaleava brothers was a big one. UCLA has strengthened the crucial QB position. Nico helped take Tennessee to the CFB playoffs. Some may criticize him due to the the media stories but he is certainly not the first player to get caught up in this messy world of NIL. However, Nico gives UCLA an experienced player at the QB position. Game experience can't be fully replicated in practice so he should help make the transition to the new Sunseri offense easier.

His brother Madden is a candidate to start in the future. UCLA FB will be watched more this season due to these transfers. This season can jump start Foster's tenure as UCLA HC.
