I'm worried now

OSU winning Pac-12 and Georgetown winning the Big East, will the committee pick 5 Pac-12 teams?

what mostly because they have three tournament teams that can't play because of the virus.

Updated Lunardi shows UCLA - Wisconsin

In response to Lunardi: 11 seed/6 seed Nova* (Proudbruin)
With Houston crushing Cincinnati at the moment (up 28 with 7 minutes left), the last team who could sneak in has been eliminated (barring the greatest comeback of all time). The Houston team looks very good.

FWIW, the last Lunardi (ESPN) prediction shows 11 UCLA playing 6 Wisconsin in the first round.

The latest Palm (CBS) prediction shows 11 UCLA playing 11 Colorado State in a play in game. If they won, they would play either 6 seeded Creighton or Clemson in one of the regions.

I'm pulling for Lunardi's guess since I feel a play in game doesn't help UCLA with its current lack of depth. Hill and Smith are out plus I wonder how healthy Juzang is at this time.

You’re right. And they need to get the ball in the right peoples hands at the end of games. Juzang needs to be on the floor at the end, as he is far and away our best free throw shooter, and quite frankly, after watching mick’s presser, his move backfired. Juzang gave up an three pointer at the beginning of the second half where mick didn’t like his effort. I’m fine if he pulls him and reams him out, but to sit him the whole half and in key moments I don’t get.

I hope mick is able to reset his anger and disappointment to give these kids some positivity. If so I have no reason to think we can’t win two games. No one except the top 8 or so teams scare me and I think with our seed we will avoid them.

Please please please no play in game.

Mick's charge of inadequate effort

I disagreed with Mick's characterization of the team's second half performance as lacking "effort" on defense.

I observe that the level of effort required to produce what he liked in the first half - acceptable tip numbers - isn't sustainable physically for forty minutes from thisvgroup. Many factors contributed: skill, size, depth, stamina and effort, even coach's trust. He's kidding himself when he puts in Nwuba and Kyman if an upgrade in defensive effort from them is expected to yield upgrade in team defensive prowess.

C'mon Coach, get real. End of game form has been falling off for a while. Effort isn't the root cause. The guys don't have forty minutes of hell in 'em, no matter how much ir how hard he pushes them.

Double talk, right ? He says he blames himself as coach but then blames the guys for not sustaining the defensive effort, their athletic limitations, their size.

There's plenty of shared responsibility for the team's play yesterday but he's spreading the blame around, not taking it

Don't worry, our boyz are getting and deserving a bid...

each of our young Bruins and staff have done an incredible job with navigating through the season wrt Covid. And they've dealt with injuries and an unfortunate personal issue with a key member of the team. If there are no more bid stealers today (like Cincy, which you know Mick is pulling hard for) then maybe we don't have to be a 1st 4 and play say a CO St team like Palm has in his bracket. Either way, it don't matter, so happy for these young guys and Mick n staff. Despite our limitations, we have a bunch of fighters on this team and they're just good kids, proud of em no matter what. Getting this experience will be tremendously valuable for next year when we really make a run. If our Bruins can somehow make it to week 2, I'll be in Vegas! Let's Go!!! Hahahahaha...

you tryin' to get me in trouble? Hahahaha... I say we all meet up next year when our Bruins win the conf and conf tourney, lock up a #1 seed (yeah, I said it!) at Westgate Sportsbook (prev Las Vegas Hilton). We'll all have some sort of Bruin gear (hat, tee, jersey) and introduce ourselves by our BG username... it'd be a blast. 1st round of Coronas (or the brew of your choice) on me and I can't wait till we light that place up when our Bruins mash their 1st Rd opponent, lol!

both Cincy and LSU lost today which really helps us. I think we'll avoid a play-in game which is good for Mick n staff to prep and for our guys to get their rest and work on stuff... reset and refresh. I'm definitely leery of the virus still but I figure if our Bruins are still playing, there will be less people the 2nd weekend rather than the first. No doubt I'm going next year when our Bruins will be a 1-seed!
