With Oregon State winning the Pac12 Tournament and the automatic bid, UCLA is probably still in but now it's a question of whether it will be as an 11 seed or now gets a play in game. A play in game probably would not be a plus for UCLA with its limited roster depth (and Juzang perhaps not still 100%). The worry now is what happens if Cincinnati wins the AAC title game tomorrow as a 5th seed (the irony of UCLA's position perhaps being in the hands of his former school).
For those who may feel free throw shooting is a matter of practice because of UCLA's inability to convert in some of their recent losses (notably SC), it's not that cut and dried. How else to explain Colorado at the FT line tonight? Colorado lost by 2 points. Colorado was the best FT shooting team in the country at 83%. They were going to set a new NCAA record for a team FT percentage in a season. They shoot 12 of 21 in this loss. |
