I have to admit I was sweating bullets. Didn't think it was our night. Glad I was wrong.

What a great performance by UCLA in the 2nd half. After trailing by 11 at the half, the Bruins came out with a different mindset.

In the OT, Juzang showed why Cronin lets him go one on one. He's not always successful but Cronin recognizes he has the first step that can beat opposing players off the dribble. Juzang scored the first four points in OT when the Bruins took control early and never let the Spartans come back. Thank goodness it looks like the ankle injury he had late in OT isn't as bad as it looked when it happened in the game but we'll have to wait for the medical report.

Jacquez carried the team for most of the game. He was fantastic with 27 points. Riley was the unsung hero late after being ineffective most of the first 30 minutes. He made his free throws and got key rebounds in OT. Bernard made shots he had no business making after forcing some drives to the hoop but they count on the scoreboard.

I guess I was right when I said in an earlier post maybe it was better UCLA was trailing at the half since they haven't been able to close when ahead. I also questioned if Michigan State was good enough to shoot as well in the 2nd half as they did in the 1st half. And they missed several shots down the stretch while UCLA started to make their shots. However, i don't suggest this as the right formula for UCLA to follow in the tournament.
