Why was I not told?
More importantly, why hasn't it been announced?
I would call Trent a CG or LG rather than a PG, and I would say the same of both Skyy and Eric F.
They might all shoot over 40% from 3 next year, so why should they want to pass the ball to anyone unless they're too closely guarded or ice cold?
You only need to hit 33.3% from 3 to score as much as someone who hits 50% from 2.
If you hit 40% from 3, like Tyler did last year, that's like 60% from 2. How many of our guys shot 60% from 2? Aday hit 59%.
Skyy finished at 39.7 and Eric D at 37.8. We want them to work hard this off-season and shoot even better. Bombs away, when it's your best shot.
Trent hit 34.3. That's like 51.5 from 2. I think we will see him add muscle and play with more confidence as a SO as he also uses exercises to improve his speed, quickness, footwork and verticality and improves his d as well as his o.
If you're off-balance, double-teamed or a teammate who's as good or better than you has an even higher percentage shot (like, when Aday has a clear lane for a well-thrown lob pass dunk or is really close for that hook shot with either hand and of course he weighs 270 next season), then by all means feel free to share that ball.
Especially with Aday, since he knows how to pass better than anyone not named Donovan and maybe Eric F.
Eric F hit 52.9 from 3 as a JR and when the two PGs (including Jared McCain) left and Devin and Aaron also left and Eric was playing with Carter Bryant who would often dribble it into a double team and only throw it out to Eric for a desperation heave with less than a second on the clock, for some strange reason his 3-point percentage went down to a measly 42.8.
He still led the team in assists for the 2nd year in a row. And in steals. He led the team in blocks as a SR, but finished 2nd behind Devin as a JR. He did average more rebounds than Devin over the last 15 games as a JR, and Carter did get more rebounds than him in exactly half their games overall against the really bad teams they played, but who's counting?
So, only 8 players right now. I have a weird feeling Cronin is going to recruit at least 4 more players before next season starts.
Hopefully, he also recruits as a walk-on Josh Palmer who hopefully doesn't hate his Dad.
