In response to Washington Tyler Harris in the portal that’s a take (Socalbruins)

Though the one weakness is, he's more of a slender 4 than a 3 so he has trouble defending actual Ws (meaning Gs). We kinda got one of those in Eric D and I like Eric D a lot because 1) he already knows the score and his teammates and 2) he works hard so I won't be surprised if he improves a lot over the summer.
I don't think Harris is close to TRIV, whom I'm hearing NBA teams are thinking of as a potential lottery pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Cronin has to pay for that. He doesn't have to guarantee squat, but like Brayden Burries TRIV might decide to go where he knows he's going to start. If UCLA wanted him 100%, they should have recruited him last year.
I still think Chris Howell of UCSD makes a lot of sense as a role player W who might come even if UCLA gets a much better W as well. But we have so many scorers, I'm not sure that Howell isn't actually the best option.
Playing for a NC can be a lot more exciting than just hoping to qualify for the Big Dance and UCLA has good grad schools too (I heard he already has his degree, but my source on that is right maybe 75% of the time on those kinds of details). |
