For one, Dylan Andrews starting next year would drive me to alcoholism. He should have been gone regardless.
Two, Mara was a presumptive starter, and to assume he wasn't would be to suggest Cronin was running his absurd small ball again.
Three, Kobe has not recommitted. He's still outstanding.
So that's two starters on board (Skyy and either Dailey or Bilodeau), by my count, and one backup (Dailey or Bilodeau).
That is... not impressive retention considering all of them had eligibility. We're basically in full rebuild mode.
Dent plugs a hole at PG. Skyy is clearly going to start at 2, maybe Perry improves enough in the offseason to supplant him and push him to 6th man. Kobe has yet to commit. PF is set, one way or the other. I'm assuming Freeny can play backup SG.
That's still two giant holes at SF and C. Then those guys have to mesh with our current players, and all four need to be extremely good defenders.
That's a long shopping list. |
