He's Very Good

Though listed as a SR, he's played 3 years and has 5 years to play 4, like Dom Harris.

So, yes, he can play at UCLA next year if he so chooses.

Does anybody remember the Baylor team that beat Drew Timme and Gonzaga to a pulp?

3 Gs 6-3 or shorter, a 6-5 250 G named Mark Vital who was so fast he is now a TE in the NFL and a 6-10 C who averaged less than 1/3 as much RPM & BPM as Aday.

They had a little G off the bench, a 4 who could shoot 3s but could't guard or rebound, and a 6-9 backup C who got 3 points and 4 rebounds per game.

They didn't care that Drew Timme could get layups over them whenever he wanted and they had no rim protection.

They blew Gonzaga off the floor and the game was over in the first 10 minutes because they could all shoot 3s (except for the Cs who could only dunk maybe since they missed those more than I ever imagined possible) and they ran Gonzaga ragged like John Wooden's teams used to do.

Jared Butler and Davion Mitchell made the NBA, but no one else did.

Tyler can shoot 3s, Donovan can shoot 3s, Eric D can shoot 3s and Skyy can shoot 3s, for sure.

Trent was nervous. Next year, he won't be.

Eric F was never nervous in his life and never will be. Good luck beating that out, Trent, but then you don't care if you start, do you?

If you do, transfer.

Donovan
Skyy
Eric F
Eric D
Tyler

Trent
Brandon

If we get Jamerson, we're in the Baylor building cause he plays d and rebounds (on a per minute basis as well as Aday). He blocks some shots, denies position, gets steals and deflections galore, isn't flat-footed, plays the flight of the ball and knows how to run from rim to rim.

Can you run your offense through him?

NO.

If you have Donovan, Skyy, Trent and Eric F on your team, why bother running your offense through someone who should be thinking about dunking and getting O rebounds to kick out to someone who can pass better than he can?

He's a SR so knows how to do that already and did it all year.

This world is changing at a dizzying pace. We can give up and lose interest or hope or just laugh at everything until Congress passes a law that ends the madness, but I think the inmates are in charge of that asylum too which is why I hung up on the Great Greek cause once he starts to shout about going to law school you can only hang up on him. He forgets quick. We both do. We're old.

I want players…. Please keep posting. I hope Trent doesn’t read them.

I expect we will get 4 new players at least in the coming weeks so we have a roster. Each one brings intrigue. I know we need at least two bigs… I’d love some shooting and some athleticism. Man I was jealous that Auburn had two G’s who shot over 90 percent from the line.

Keep posting so I can fight off the Mara depression.

If so, we should grab a bite some day in case you're literally starving.

I think Cronin is going to keep playing either Tyler or Eric D some at "C" in a 5-out lineup so I'm not sure how much he wants 2 posts since we saw with Devin who was really skinny he left and then Aday who seemed to have a deal left AFTER a huge increese in usage and skill and WKIV went into the portal likely with Cronin feeling confident that he had Aday at least coming back and could focus on a PG and a W.

That's life, Cronin dude. You get paid to deal with it.

If a lot of posts say, "I'm not transferring unless I go where I start," Cronin might say, "I'm not bringing in more than 1 low post post at a time because I'll lose the 2nd guy after spending maybe 2 years on a player." He likely sees Tyler as a 5-out post and that's what Eric D was at Oklahoma State.

Duke has Maluach and no other posts who play unless Maliq Brown is a post. Houston is in the Final 4 with no one taller than 6-8 and no notable standout posts.

College has become a game of Gs and speed and so has the NBA, where even a relatively "slow" player like Jokic has more passing skill and handling skill than possibly any player in the NBA.

The idea that you need a PG, a SG, a SF, a PF and a C who fit traditional concepts hasn't been part of the NBA since Greg Popovic came along (I was in the stands listening to him mocking Jerry West back as "Mr. Beverly Hills" for telling him his "positionless NBA" wasn't real basketball and would never succeed and Greg was right and Jerry was wrong).

College has gone in that direction. The incredible skills of some of the players on all of the teams in the Final 4 are remarkable (Flagg and Broome, wow) and I'm not sure that labeling players makes as much sense as viewing the game in a different light.

FWIW, I see in Cronin'a recruiting last year and this year something I've never seen before (maybe because I'm too stupid and missed it): I see a plan.

Every great coach has a plan and recruits to fulfill it rather than changing the system to fit the players you accidentally wind up with every year (um, Lavin & Alford & also Howland after year 5).

It's the coaches with a plan who find 3-stars who outperform 5-stars. The plan brings out the talent that was always there but the scouts missed, not the other way around. That part of basketball will never change.

Only UCLA could blow recruiting a player twice.
