Lakers once again the beneficiaries of NBA corruption.
Posted Tue, May 13 8:50 am (Edited Tue, May 13 9:01 am)
Mavs trade away their franchise player who led them to the Finals *last year* for LA's detritus, then wouldn't you know it, a few months later in an untelevised NBA lottery selection, they are *magically* rewarded with the generational prospect in this year's draft despite the "odds" of them doing so randomly being less than 2%.

What an amazing coincidence. Just like all the other amazing coincidences in the NBA Draft, like:

-New Orleans getting the #1 (Anthony Davis) the same year the NBA is trying to find a new owner and they lose Chris Paul to the Clippers.
-New Orleans getting the #1 (Zion) the same year the ridiculous Anthony Davis-to-LA trade goes through.
-Cavs magically get generational player Kyrie the same year they lose LeBron to Miami.

Funny how all this works.

You guys are nuts! I'm sure you see plots and conspiracies everywhere. For the draft to be "fixed" to for some strange reason to give Dallas the first draft choice and San Antonio the second, it would have to involve the following people: NBA Commisioner Adam Silver, probably his second in command and the organization that prepares the actual lottery system (which probably consists of 4-5 different people). So we're talking about at least five people who can keep a secret. And such a secret can't stay a secret for very long before some rumors start circulating and the press and social media get involved. If such a thing ever was revealed or even barely considered, it would rock the NBA to its heels, heads would be cut off and it would be a greater disaster than the Black Sox scandal.

Please stop this nonsense!

Shouldn’t a business have a right to allocate its resources as they see fit?

Shifting players for the benefit of the league is within the business scope of the league, no?

I don’t have an opinion on it. To me, it doesn’t impact games.
