Helping the pitcher out way too much by swinging at balls. All strike outs swinging. Hard to hit the ball when you’re swinging at balls. Hope they have a more disciplined approach in the 7th.

OU pitcher had 11 strikeouts.....

but 8 of those were Ucla hitters getting themselves out. They never hit the high riseball because it was 6 inches out of the zone but they never adjusted so the OU dominance over Ucla continued. The problem now is that they have a do or die game vs one of the top pitchers in NCAA who if on is nearly un-hittable.

UCLA SB bats go silent and now have a tough road

Despite great pitching from young pitchers Terry and Tinsley, UCLA lost 1-0. UCLA never figured out the pitching from OU starter Maxwell. She mixed up her pitches well as she gave up only two hits and struck out 11.

The clutch hitting UCLA has gotten recently didn't make an appearance in this game. The Bruins had scoring chances but couldn't capitalize on any of them. Brady on her birthday had a bad day, striking out three times and grounding out to end the game. The only run in this game (thanks to Meono's great catch earlier in the game) came via a HR from her best friend Jennings on the OU team.

UCLA now has to battle their way back through the losers bracket. It won't be easy as they now must face Stanford tomorrow and their ace pitcher Canady (on a day's rest).

Bruins swept Furd earlier and beat Nijaree Canady twice. Getting dropped into the elimination bracket also means that the Bruins will have to beat Texas twice tomorrow if they win today. Tough task ahead, but UCLA is familiar with Canady and the Bruin pitching has been great in the postseason.

The Bruin hitting though went into a slump against OU. Their clutch hitting didn’t come through this time despite multiple opportunities.
