WGym: Jordan Chiles confirms she'll be back at UCLA

Jordan Chiles appeared on the Today show, and on social media announced that she will be back at UCLA. When she decided to take last season off to train for the Olympic trials, she said that she'd return. But, with a gold medal and a lot of new endorsement opportunities, there was no guarantee that she'd be back.

UCLA previously lost signees Simone Biles and Jordyn Wieber when they went pro. But, with NIL, gymnasts like Chiles can cash in on their opportunities while remaining eligible to compete in the NCAA. Under NIL, the GOAT Simone Biles could have competed at UCLA.

Now a three-time Olympic medalist, Chiles will be key to UCLA's chances for returning to nationals this upcoming season. Chiles was one of the top NCAA competitors in the all-around competition two seasons ago. And UCLA will need Chiles to solidify the lineup on all four individual events, because freshman AA Selena Harris transferred after last season (a lot of rumors suggested that she was booted off the team).

Chiles will turn 25 during the upcoming season, but because she deferred her enrollment as a freshman and took last year off to train for the Olympics, she'll have two years of eligibility remaining.
