Baseball: 2025 Schedule Is Out
Posted Mon, Dec 16 11:28 am
Came out in the middle of finals week.

Interesting schedule, and a strange sight because it's missing the former Pac-12 rivals like Stanford, Cal, Oregon State, and Arizona. The only former Pac-12 rivals on the schedule are ASU and Wazzu, neither of which are weekend series. The Bruins start the season with a series against Cal Poly. The Bruins have midweek games against local opponents like UCI, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, and LMU. But, no weekend series.

I thought there would be more midwest teams traveling to LA early in the season, since the midwest B1G teams have a history of starting baseball season with a lot of road games. But, UCLA starts B1G play on the road at Maryland before hosting Nebraska for the first B1G home series.

Thoughts on prospects for HC Savage this season

Any thoughts on whether this could be a critical season for HC Savage? The UCLA baseball teams have struggled in recent years (injuries have played a role). Savage rebuilt the program but it seems to be in a holding pattern.

The Bruins will be traveling further to play in the Big 10 for the first time this season. I'm not sure what to expect. Unlike previous years, his recruiting class for 2025 was not as highly rated though I wonder if the small class size (11 players) has something to do with the ranking (35th nationally, 4th in the Big 10).

changed his commit once the Home Field Vet scandal hit and now is committed to Oregon St (if he decides not to enter the upcoming draft--J. Proctor). Sucks that happened.
