For no factual reason I get a vibe from McGovern

that reminds me of Mora's DC Tom Bradley....Hope I'm wrong. Also, I doubt Norton Jr would chill on the sidelines with a passive D scheme...

It's a fair observation but the two have pretty different football backgrounds. Bradley was a good people-person but had no idea what was going on with modern football by the time he landed at UCLA. I tend to think one of their similarities is they were not the best person for the job, but for different reasons. The book was out on Mora when Bradley signed up and the staff seemed to be in a gradual state of decline. Kelly had a reputation as a DC killer from the Oregon days but his staff seems to be getting better rather than regressing and McGovern has actually been a part of defenses that were "multiple" rather than just talking about them. Cautiously optimistic with this defensive staff and roster but worried about the safeties.
