Will Chip survive going 5-7 or 6-6 next year?

Brutal schedule and this team could only score 10 vs Zona.

LSU, Penn State, Oregon, Washington, USC, Iowa, plus at Nebraska, and Fresno State will be a tossup. At Rutgers is no gimme.

… You also assume UCLA won’t improve.

Defense will lose depth - so.. nope. UCLA will not be better (on paper) next year.

Kelly has proven he can’t beat decent teams on the road

Nebraska and Rutgers will be decent next year, so those are probably losses. Fresno State is ranked ahead of UCLA right now. It will be a tossup.

Iowa always has a good defense. It’s also a tossup.

Is Kelly going to find a great tackle in the portal? I doubt it when teams like Texas and USC are also in need. The Bruins will need a new center. The QB is still a huge question mark.

No Latu or Smith so the defense will not be as good.

He is citing non debatable historical facts. Seemingly the ONLY justification for retaining him would come from his personal fan club or those that deem mediocrity acceptable.

Fray makes a good point on the Books & Balls philosophy....and the mirage...

Considering the prospects of talent leaving vs. coming in next year AND the daunting schedule I predict he negotiates his release prior to or immediately following whichever minor bowl game we play in.
