I hope it works out, I really do. But I really doubt it.
So many better qualified candidates. But of course we go in house, of course we go cheap. |

Hope he becomes the best college football head coach of all time as the HC of UCLA.
But for me, this is a very underwhelming and typical UCLA coaching hire. |

You got what you wanted.
Is this an upgrade? UCLA showing their true colors of not committing to football. Went to the sales rack and got a discounted coach.
Hopefully, DFoster can do a great job, but this hire is clearly an indicator that UCLA is not committed to football! |

I will support Foster as HC. BUT, this just feels like a lazy hire. I feel that this program is going to have a pretty dark decade coming up. Nothing but bad moves and dead money that will haunt this program for the foreseeable future, unfortunately. |

I really hope Foster kills it.
But damn, this is an underwhelming pick.
I really really hope I’m wrong. |

...I've posted before he's the best UCLA running back I've seen play. |

He is very popular with the players. That said, it remains to be seen if he has the chops to be a HC. |

It probably stabilizes the roster and I would assume that Coach Foster will put his heart and soul into the job. |

Stop the negativity ... Let him grow with the program ... he's popular with the team and THAT counts for something. Chip came in the program with experience and hype ... how did that work out? |

He would’ve probably hired Tony White. Foster needs to hire a good OC as his first order of business. I’ve never heard of a RB coach getting promoted all the way to HC with zero OC experience. |

in the short term. He is in a strong position to continue everything and anything he saw as good functionally/operationally for the program. Say what you will, Chips machine developed players. Hopefully DeShaun keeps it in place, retains key staff , etc. In terms of recruiting, my initial take is this has to be an upgrade; maybe even a serious one. Young, revered and energetic, DeShaun should be able to lure in better talent overall. Staffing is the next big question. I'm cautiously optimistic...
