Loved everything about the the game last night

except for the two EG’s turn overs. The first one is more forgivable than the second. He should have just taken the sack or tucked it and get whatever yard he could have. Anyway, wouldn’t be sweet if if can go bowling? Maybe it’s not quite apropos here but I always tell my kids it’s not how you started but how you finish!

Garber's weakness is in trying to do too much when it isn't there. Hero ball doesn't work - compounded inside the 10 yd line. By now, with all the pressure he's faced it should be ingrained.

Eliminate the picks & we'll be bowling.

Garbers almost ruined a spectacular effort

By this team.

Game ball goes to Malloe for a great gameplan, the defense for excellent execution of said gameplan, and our running backs, especially Harden, for showing what we can do when we commit aggressively to a run game. EB also called a great game.

Loved the WR play. I don’t recall more than one drop on a target.

OL wasn’t perfect, still struggled in pass pro, but run blocking more than made up the difference. Too many penalties though.

DL was lights out. LB were aggressive and disciplined. DBs are still a huge weakness of this team, but not in run support.

Garbers has some really nice qualities. His decision making and accuracy aren’t among them, nor is his tendency to, like DTR, risk his body and the ball unnecessarily. He needs to play within himself and the offense, and understand he’s not the main character of this team.

A good win. Could have been a great one, but I will absolutely take it and may I please have another.

It was the unis - the return to Powder Keg Blue

This looked like a Bruin team is supposed to look like, finally (my first Bruin game was in 1963). Not completely facetious when I say it was a kick to see those Bruins (with no names on their backs) play team defense so capably - seeing that huge iceberg of Powder Keg Blue just blow up their offense line over and over (that would be Toia).

I'd had... deep.... reservations about this coaching staff earlier in the season. I think yesterday our coaches out-coached theirs. A couple good years of recruiting and this could be a really good team (well, it could...weirder things have happened).

Garbers such a conundrum... some throws are so impressive, strong arm, accuracy. Some throws aren't... though of the three turnovers it was only the "jump shot" into the endzone interception that was inexcusable. The fumble inside the five yard line was the result of a great defense play - hammer coming down unseen from behind us. (A good image for this election week).

I’m not surprised that the offense had 400+ yds

After watching Iowa’s game vs MSU, it was clear to me that this Hawkeye’s defense is nowhere near what it has been the past few years.

Defensively, I would have been happy holding Iowa to 160 yds rushing based on what they’ve done all year. Not many defenses in the country could have stuffed Kobe Johnson like the Bruins just did.

Ferentz reminds me of Paterno and Bowden in their later years. He has headsets on but his “coaching” on game day seems relegated to mostly making exhortations to his team to play hard.
