In case anyone cares. When is the last time a military academy beat an SEC team?

Keep in mind players in the TP before bowl games

I believe Oklahoma had around 15 players enter the transfer portal before this bowl game, including their starting QB. This is the nature of non-playoff bowl games for many teams. Between the first transfer portal window plus the NFL draft for others, many bowl teams are playing with starters and key reserves missing the game.

Just a statement of fact. The unfortunate reality is the CFB playoffs has made several of the other bowl games almost meaningless for some major CFB teams.

There is something to be said for a Navy team united in their effort and desire to show up a team like Oklahoma. It doesn't change the fact Oklahoma had more talent but weren't able to play up to it for whatever reasons - maybe the coaching since reports indicate the heat is now on for HC Venables.

Don't land in the mucky middle

I think this sentiment epitomizes "fan thinking"

The players, of course, are playing for their future, whether that be getting a shot at the nfl or upgrading to a better program via the next TP cycle.

I don't know if others sense this... but guys on teams that are going nowhere in recent years have continued to play their @SSES off, in my estimation. Example: Ucla this year. One benefit of having smart guys in your program is that they can be motivated by appealing to their self interest: play well, and there's a payoff...potentially.

From a fan's pov, let's cut to the chase! If we're not winning it all, let's get a new coach! If a dog can hunt, it can hunt as a pup. We don't need this 3 year bullshiit. That's just prolonging the obvious. Not fair to the coach? Since when is life fair. Take your millions and ride off into the sunset.

Will take care of bad coaches, right?
