Can we grade who’s blocking for Nico?

What does our offensive line look like heading into Fall Camp? What does the likely drop off look like from an SEC team like Tenn?

They have been looking good all spring. It’s a much bigger line than last season’s.

-If I remember right, word on the street is Courtland Ford is currently starting at LT. That's a great sign, and hopefully an indication of his readiness and ability to pick up the new offense (which word on the street says is very much a work in progress). There is a flip side to this though, that it may signal our current tackle roster is so bad he needed to be thrown in. I'll go with the former, for now: 8/10.

-At LG, word is Akanshilo is starting at LG. Pretty wild considering he came in relatively unheralded, but he looked stout last year, so good for him. 6/10.

-Sam Yoon is ensconced at C, and played well last year. 8/10.

-No idea what's going on at RG, I think it will probably be a battle between Makihele, Brooks, and Armella. 0/10.

-RT is DiGeorgio. I really hope this is the year the lights turn on, because we really, really need it. 6/10.

I will say... I think Nico is a much better fit for UCLA than Dante (or Garbers) was, largely because Nico has tons of skills as an improviser when plays break down, and UCLA, at least recently, is not able to field a stout OL to prevent plays from breaking down. Nico will be able to still move the ball with his legs and arm on the run, so there will be less pressure on our OL to be lights out than there was last year.

Weren’t Brooks & Armella our biggest portal gets on the OL after Crawford (before he went to WVU) - hoping your 0/10 for RG is more the mystery of their ability rather than an assessment of the position heading into Fall.

OL has meshed well thus far in Spring practices from all reports.
