Eric Bieniemy was a one and done by Coach Foster. Thankfully CDF recognized the OC was terrible. That alone will drastically alter what our stats look like this year.
EB couldn't orchestrate a run game to save his job and lacked creativity. Under Chip we saw multiple lineman pulling, counters, options, quick pitches, short screens, you name it. I watched UCLA last year do a lot of start with a handoff draw and the QB keep it if there wasn't something open immediately. From watching an offensive line standpoint it was brutal. Nothing to keep the D honest or anchored home. And thus, Garbers was under pressure frequently & our starting running back typically averaged about 30 yards a game.
My guess is the new OC Sunseri brings with him a lot more motion & movement which will help in so many ways to keep the QB upright. |
