Parking for a Tailgate
Posted Mon, Oct 23 1:24 pm
Any thoughts to strategize arriving to the Rose Bowl with a caravan of cars to tailgate at the Rose Bowl? We will probably be arriving a few hours before the game, but we won't be with the early birds.

We used to meet at the Ralph's on Colorado, then take the south entrance (via Orange Grove, L on Holly St.) and park on the baseball fields.

Do they still allow parking there? It doesn't show up on the parking map.

Appreciate all thoughts.

Try meeting at the Vons on California. Then take California west to Arroyo, turn right and take Arroyo in. Park at Brookside Park. It takes awhile to fill up, has nice grass and restrooms, and an easy exit the same way you came in.

Tip: the entrance is hard to find. Turn right at the first entrance after the aquatics center, and an immediate left so that you are paralleling Arroyo for a hundred yards or so before getting checked in/paying, then you are sent to the right and into the park.

Good to hear that that park is still open and a great way to get there! Appreciate the response.

I used to get down to Arroyo via Holly Street, but that was blocked off the last time I tried (many years ago).
