There is definitely a crapshoot element to showing up to Lot H alone, hoping to be invited to a tailgate. If someone is saying "join us" and they're hanging out where the alumni band plays, you should jump on it.

I find this forum quite difficult to keep track of things and the threads get full quickly.

Went to 3 per year, for many years. But, had kids, so we skipped a few years. Now we go to one per year. We live in Orange County. Gotta leave 3.5 hours before game time do have a decent tailgate. Will often not get home until 2 hours after game time.

Not going to do that more than once/season with elementary school kids. Maybe twice. But, we haven't.

What brings you to the States? Just general vacationing? What else you got planned?

...see Guns N’ Roses in LA, and since I’m here I’m just gonna do the usual stuff.....universal, six Flags, Venice beach, sunset strip (I like my rock and metal music). Got another gig to go to and I’m catching the Rams thanksgiving game against the Saints.....and I was keen to go to a college game as I have never been to one.
I understand why you won’t make many games, plus it seems quite an expensive day...a few tickets, parking, gas costs to and from, food and beverage......makes for a big cost.
Have you been to your game this season?

Went to the Hawaii game early in the season. Had a great time.

It definitely adds up, but it's worth it. The time commitment (and exhaustion, I yell on pretty much every defensive down) is the killer.

Sounds like you're going to have an incredible trip!

Soak up the flavor of the college game with the average blokes and diehards, then travel up top with the cultured buffet types to experience a different type of diehard.

It's a win/win!

Mix in a little Old Town Pasadena....and a memorable trip will be had.
