Cordell Broadus

I understand there were special circumstances during his first departure from the team and he was a legitimate athlete, but is it right to accept a football scholarship, quit before you’re even eligible to play a down and then stay in school.

CJM was just trying to make Pub for
The program by signing these 2 . Combs barely saw the field as a ST kid and Cordell was really NOT that skilled of a WR , average at best ! IMHO

I haven't heard the details but the Pac 12 does guarantee 4 years of scholarship whether or not the athlete plays. I don't know UCLA's rules but most schools that do this convert the scholarship to a work study program to free up the scholarship for the team. A conversion from an athletic scholarship to a work study program most likely requires a student to work 20 hours per week. Of course, if he doesn't want to do work study he can just pay for the tuition himself.

Go Bruins!
Arrive early. Wear Blue. Be loud.

What do you mean "is it right"?

He gave it back anyway.

It's a dog-eat-dog world. He got into UCLA on his own merits. Good for him.

I think Cordell Broadus had good intentions. Was a 4 star receiver that many schools were after. Don't you go to school to try and find out what direction you want in life ? It turns out that he wanted to focus on other things. I think that happens. If I'm not mistaken he also determined that he missed football and try to refocus on it but too late.

In my mind it isn't that far from a football player who suffers a career ending injury and stays in school to complete that degree. My guess is that it is the cost of doing business in terms of the football roster. Hits and misses.

Chip is the opposite of Mora. Less publicity....more substance.

Chip's ego doesnt need to win NSD.

Love what he does with the kids. Deshaun foster and him have put on fb clinics at Spaulding field past few years on campus and the snoop league youth fb has been awesome for many years/decades? Respect for what he does. Cordell is a fine young man with fb talent
