After losing two matches in a row to the hated Trojans, the Bruin women’s beach VB team swept their rivals for a National Championship. In fact the team swept 🧹 their last three opponents 3 - 0 !
So a thread is started to point out the rare triple sweep in the NCAA Championships? No? So the thread purpose must have been to point the girls won back to back titles right?
Also not mentioned. So obviously this must have all about giving kudos to the departing seniors on their fabulous careers ?
Of course not, why muck up a perfectly good rant by giving hard working student / athletes credit on their own merits. |

Gene and Dan make clear that football and men's basketball, the sports for which these pages are named, are just two among many sports, of no greater or lesser import than any of the other sports in which Ucla competes.
The women's beach team's wonderful back-to-back victory should be celebrated for the greatness that it is. Recognize that so long as Dan and Gene are running the show this victory is also the only kind you may reasonably expect from their department.
Forget about football and basketball glory and start enjoying championships in the Olympic and country club sports. I hope and pray that Chip Kelly will give us a reprieve from this sentence as long as he remains here, but men's basketball looks like a mid-major program until further notice. |
