Adding to best restaurants ever... been out of town

Pacific Dining Car - Best 5 star - In L.A. on 6th St., near Downtown.
They age and broil their beef to perfection. Great place before a game or theatre. They're open 24hrs, serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just a tidbit, they filmed some of the scenes from Training Day with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.

For Mexican try El Arco Iris - In L.A. (Highland Park -Mount Washington area) on 5864 York Blvd. Fine Mexican Cuisine from the Monterey, Mexico Region. Best Chili Verde Beef Burritos you'll ever have. I swear they're freaking good, if you don't like them... I'll give you your money back. Some guy back east has them flown in and freezes em.

For a total Fish Extravaganza try Jake's Fish House in San Clemente. The House Oyster's Rockefeller are the bomb.

I've lived in L.A., Monrovia, Glendale, Seal Beach and now Newbury Park/T.O. and been to a lot of the places you guy and gals mentioned. So it's very difficult to say which place is the best but it sure is fun trying.

Here are some more of my choices for mexican food & for seafood. For mexican food, (specifically for mole lovers) you have to try Guelaguetzas! This place absolutely rocks & their mole is just delicious! If you have never tried mole, you have to go there & try it out. For seafood, you cannot do any better or fresher than The Original Fish Company in Los Alamitos, only one word describes this place, quality!!! And yeah, The Pacific Dining Car is very good.

Making me HUNGRY!!! So here are couple of places I enjoy or used to enjoy until they closed. First they are not there anymore and haven't been for perhaps 25 yrs., but the Fireside Inn on Ventura Blvd.in Encino had the best Oysters Rockefeller ever, and those terrific small loaves of bread. When Mark, the bartender saw me walk in, my drink would be there waiting before I could get to the bar. I do indeed miss the place.
John Dominis Restaurant in Newport beach had terrific food, but sadly they also are not there anymore. Durring football season, charter buses would leave from John Dominis to the Rose Bowl.
For good Italian food there is the Villa Nova in Newport Beach, with a window seat you can look at the boats in their slips and at the harbor, ..good music at the piano bar, liked it best when Greg Topper was there, but he has moved on.
Also for good Italian food is Ravioi's in Old Town Lake Elinore, terrific service and nice ambiance. For a fill you up to the max breakfast try the Cowgirl#2 in Norco. It is somewhat hard to ruin breakfast and they don't.

SC is my hometown and to my knowledge no such restaurant. We got some good ones here, though.
