our favorite place. All of our 'special ocassion' diners occur here. Birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, everything. Massive menu, but I have problems getting past the Filet pepper steak. Can recommend it enoughh (steak and the restaurant). |

This could be it's own topic, but I've found it hard to find a good Mexican place in Pasadena and the surrounding foothills. However, there's a place called La Cabinita on Ocean View in Montrose. Incredibly reasonable, and authentic homestyle mexican food. I'm not a mole guy myself, but their mole is supposed to be amazing. Sopes, taquitos, enchiladas, tacos, it's all great.
On the westside, there's a great eatery/to go called Taco Plus on Santa Monica and Bundy. Quality combo plates at an affordable place, good sides and guac (I hate it when people strike out on the guac).
In El Segundo, there's Cozymels. Table side guac prepared in front of you, and a great steak salad. Not truly authentic, but good quality and a little pricey, but that's the South Bay.
If there was one thing I missed while in Seattle, it was good Mexican food. They really sucked at it up there. They talked about how great Taco Time was, and it was like having a chicken patty in a mission tortilla with ketchup and lettuce. They best I could find was big Chipotle, which I love, but it ain't really mexican. |

Has every restaurant featured on Food TV, Travel channel, and Bravo. Just type in the zipcode of the city you're traveling to (or your own) to taste the best food.
I've used it for Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Knoxville, Biloxi, Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, and have not yet had a bad experience. |
