Off topic, the best restaurant ever & you have to try it!
Posted Sat, Feb 04 2:05 pm
Last week we were talking about restaurants. Here is a place that you absolutely must & without a doubt try!!! The name of the place "The Dal Rae". It is located in Pico Rivera, but don't let it's location fool you. This place has been there for over 50 years & everything that they do is only top notch. The pepper steak is the best that I have ever tried & it is simply addicting! If you are a fish lover, you can order any of their fish dishes & ask them to prepare it " A La Ben" which is a house specialty. Whenever I go, I usually order a dozen oyster rockefellers, then I will follow that up with a caesar salad ( that is prepared at your table ) for 2 & then I will finish off my meal with that pepper steak. If you want other opinions, check it out on Yelp & you will see what others have said about this place. If you do go, you can thank me later. PS, I usually get there early so I can enjoy a nice single malt at the bar!The bartenders are all older gentlemen who are old school & they pour good stiff drinks. Reservations are preferred, ENJOY!!!

View to die for and food to go with it. Wine list is on an iPad and there are choices up to $20,000 bottles. Take your lady there and your night is...... Need to dress in business attire.

our favorite place. All of our 'special ocassion' diners occur here. Birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, everything. Massive menu, but I have problems getting past the Filet pepper steak. Can recommend it enoughh (steak and the restaurant).

My favorite restaurant meal is breakfast and one of the best I ever ate at was on Main Street in Newhall. A real old time joint with license plates all over the walls.

I think it's named The Way Station.

start with a Kettle One on the rocks two olives some fried calamari with garlic cheese bread and the Chilean Seabass This is particularly tasty after a Bruin win. $120.00 for two well spent.

This could be it's own topic, but I've found it hard to find a good Mexican place in Pasadena and the surrounding foothills. However, there's a place called La Cabinita on Ocean View in Montrose. Incredibly reasonable, and authentic homestyle mexican food. I'm not a mole guy myself, but their mole is supposed to be amazing. Sopes, taquitos, enchiladas, tacos, it's all great.

On the westside, there's a great eatery/to go called Taco Plus on Santa Monica and Bundy. Quality combo plates at an affordable place, good sides and guac (I hate it when people strike out on the guac).

In El Segundo, there's Cozymels. Table side guac prepared in front of you, and a great steak salad. Not truly authentic, but good quality and a little pricey, but that's the South Bay.

If there was one thing I missed while in Seattle, it was good Mexican food. They really sucked at it up there. They talked about how great Taco Time was, and it was like having a chicken patty in a mission tortilla with ketchup and lettuce. They best I could find was big Chipotle, which I love, but it ain't really mexican.

Has every restaurant featured on Food TV, Travel channel, and Bravo. Just type in the zipcode of the city you're traveling to (or your own) to taste the best food.

I've used it for Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Knoxville, Biloxi, Denver, San Francisco, San Diego, and have not yet had a bad experience.
