Best UCLA single wing footage I've ever seen...
Posted Tue, Apr 23 7:34 pm
I stumbled across a video of the 1955 Oregon St. game in the Coliseum. It's black and white, no sound, but appears to be the entire game edited to 45 minutes. The picture quality, especially for a night game from that long ago, is excellent. Lots of Ronnie Knox, Jim Decker and the wingback reverse and multiple serpentine huddle breaks. I don't know how to post videos, but this is very easy to get into:

1) Go to Google
2) Type in: UCLA football 1955
3) Hit "images"
4) Open the first link in the second row: "OSC and UCLA football, Oct. 8 1955."

Maybe someone could post this on BG forum. FYI: This is an Oregon St. video (it was Oregon St. College in 1955, hence the "OSC" in the title line) and it's not on Youtube.

is Sam Brown. The great Bob Davenport is #27. Bruce Ballard, #42, was the QB, although his role was hardly what we think of as a modern-day QB.

Knox is #18, Decker #30.

Here's a link for the roster:

was a real gentleman. He hasn't been forgotten. I trust he's still enjoying the games from his skybox seat, although he might not be pleased with how the game has become much, much more than just a game.

a lot of the current wildcat formation, especially near the goal line. Most everyone packed between the tackles/TEs and the snap goes to a back who will probably keep it, but has the option to get to someone else.
