In response to Found another clip of Apisa/Stiles meeting 1966 (uclanman)

The Rose Bowl Apisa / Stiles clip fr the interview was of a far better quality than previously seen here. Especially the color saturation. At the extreme top of the frame you can see Stiles slip his blocker and throw everything he had a Apisa. Fortunately at approximately the same time Jim Colleto launched himself into a neck high tackle.
While Stiles is (justifiably) credited with the tackle and knocked himself out in the process, I’ve always thought Apisa might have survived that collision enough to restore his forward momentum. The combination of Stiles standing Apisa up long enough for Colette to get there removed any chance for Apisa to stay on his feet. |
