Life before ESPN & FoxSports

In the late 50's/early 60's TV had not yet gotten a stranglehold on college pig. The only talking heads were the stadium announcers and they never got their faces in front of a camera.
There were sports columnists/pundits but their numbers were limited and their work generally confined to the print media.
Now when a star college player breaks wind at a party on Saturday night ESPN and FoxSports will go into hyperdrive to cover it and roll out their hordes of talking heads to opine over its significance.
I'm just waiting for the first Jr. High School kid to call a press conference to announce which High School he's selected. And you know that FoxSports and/or ESPN will cover it.
Sometimes I yearn for the return of the single wing and those powder blue jersey's with the white numbers.
