CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Lettered as tackle in 1952,53,54. Wore jersey number 77.
- Served as team captain alternate in 1954.
- Was anchor of the defense on Bruins' 1954 National Championship team
- Was also a 2-time Pacific Coast Intercollegiate wrestling champ.
- Was an 19th round selection (228th pick overall) in the 1953 NFL Draft (LA Rams) but returned to play for UCLA.
ACCOLADES
- Earned consensus All-American honors in 1954. Also a three-time All-Coast selection in 1952,53,54.
- Finished 7th in Heisman Trophy voting in 1954.
