  • PCC Champion and Ranked #1 UPI, #2 AP
  • Conference's quirky 'no-repeat' rule disallowed team to play in Rose Bowl.
  • First undefeated, untied season.
  • Team's 367 points led the nation. Their 4.4 points per game allowed was also best in the nation.
  • Also led nation in rushing defense (allowing only 73.2 yards per game.
  • Their 28 interceptions also led the nation.
  • Three players (FB Bob Davenport, OT Jack Ellena and OG Jim Salsbury) earned All-American honors. Ellena garner consensus honors.
