CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
- Lettered as halfback in 1933,34,35 under head coach William Spaulding.
- Had a school-record 93-yard TD run in 1934 Montana game.
- Rushed for 1,539 in 303 carries in his career. Accumulated 1,657 total yards during his career.
- Team had a record of 21-9-1 during his career.
- Led the Bruins to a share of their first PCC title.
- Played in the 1936 East-West Shrine game
- Also lettered in baseball and track & field.
- Was a 2nd round selection (17th pick overall) in the NFL's first ever Draft in 1936 (Detroit Lions). Has distinction of being the first ever Bruin to be picked in the NFL Draft.
ACCOLADES
- Inducted into UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
- Earned All-Coast honors in 1935.
